Working to create distinct voices for the three Program brands after their purchase by Burton, I crafted all channel copy–including product, tagline and tech blocks as well as the seasonal company intro–for four Foursquare seasons. Through catalog and web text, my words created a refined vibe and true voice infused with a misty resonance of the longstanding brand that emphasized the detail and originality of the premium outerwear line.
Link to '08 BookGood style is hard to define , but easy to see. There are no set rules, but the formula is the same whether linking lines through the park, tucking into the trees or hanging out after a rad day on the hill. Elements like progression, creativity and skill each play a part, but a smooth flow elevates some clearly above the rest. Studying these talented few–those who make even the hard look easy–gives us all a template and potent source of inspiration.
At Foursquare, we have always designed gear that blends form with function. We start with high-quality waterproof / breathable fabrics and tweak them with original elements like texture, toughness and comfortable interiors. The inspiration for our best ideas–such as arm-to-arm venting, snap-in heaters and hidden glove holders–come straight from our own memorable days on snow. And to add our signature,we keep the style clean.
All snowboarding is local. No matter where we normally ride, it’s the hidden hip, secret shot or whole new zone that makes a good day sick. Yet lines are not limited to a home hill, as dropping-in on someone else’s spot is part of the deal. Stumbling on prime terrain, hooking up with a new crew or getting shown the goods are all in the cards when visiting a new area. Each mountain has its stashes, scenes and customs, but these eccentric peripherals make each mission unlike the ride back home. And that regular switch keeps things fresh and fun.
Dropping a new line has always fit the Foursquare vibe. Since day one, our gear has earned respect at every hill because we set our own style with inspiration rather than duplication. We select only top-shelf waterproof/breathable fabrics, smooth snap-out heaters and insulating high-loft fill for construction to keep weather in check. Each functional feature is designed from a lift-to-line perspective that keeps design simple and clean. But the final element is refined style that leaves a strong impression in any scene that we know how to ride.
CROSS-BREEZE VENTS Dump heat quick when hiking with the cooling cross-breeze of vents inside and out. No-snag mesh keeps snow outside and adds flash with printed pinstriping.
PULL-TIGHT HEM Pull cuffs out of the muck with this taffeta tab system that tucks inside inseam vents. Two-level snap provides different levels of lift to match personal sag.
ARROYO JACKET This convertible keeps on-hill style both clean and technical. Snap-out jock jacket lounges in luxury and undercover cinches protect hands when engaging the hood.
CONVERTIBLE Snap in or out the heater in this three-in-one system to warm up or cool down depending on conditions. The slick warm-ups serve well for off-hill wear.
OXFORD NYLON A coated, mid-weight, high-filament nylon. Translated, this means it is tough, quick-drying and resistant to the elements. Used in our Convertible Liners, it also won’t feel stiff or sponge up moisture when a storm blows through.
