Brand Storytelling
One of the most powerful outputs of our Natural Perspectives campaign for Stio was a defining brand video that pulled the strongest quotes from our narrative interviews with four of their most influential employees. To enable this work, we helped identify the subjects of the campaign, then conducted deeply researched audio interviews with the subjects, collaborated on a shoot plan, pulled out the strongest quotes and threads that supported the overall thematic of the campaign and advised on the edit concept—resulting in a brand video with more than 120K views.
The video element was promoted through four specific stories—friendly profiles and companion blog posts we authored—for their art director, designer, materials manager and product team director, that resonated from their words and passion for what they do and where they live. This personal element, framing the brand through the people who make it what it is, all served to deepen the meaning and connection of Stio’s logo, identity and ethic with its customers. They spoke to design, sustainability, outdoor access and natural inspiration—providing depth and story around the completely foundational and incredibly successful campaign for the brand.
“In nature, everything has its purpose. I think living it and being in it pushes myself to think about how we continue to be innovative and push our visuals forward every single season.”
“With Stio clothes, it’s how do you take what’s happening out in the world in those natural manners and somehow bring it into the clothing.”
“You really distill what you need down to the essence and I think that’s something I pick up when I’m out there on the water. The simplicity of nature, there’s just a system for everything.”
“As a brand we talk about being caretakers, but I really think I need to raise caretakers. This place that we live may not exist if we’re not really thinking about what we’re doing and how we’re building and how we’re growing.”
“In my aesthetic, I love simplicity and I love making sure what you have in your design is there for a reason.”
“I think the people that work for Stio and live in Jackson, they live the life. So when you live the life you have connections to the images and the stories and to the people that we are telling stories about.”
